TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Night-time transfer to the Montmartre neighbourhood. Funicular ride (included). Welcome to Paris! On arrival at the airport we shall be waiting to transfer you to the hotel. You can enjoy your free time until the tour starts, information about the meeting place and start time can be found on the information boards in the hotel reception area. At the end of the evening, we provide transfers to the Montmartre district. This neighbourhood is known for its painters, artists, and cabarets. We will also take the cable car to the top of the hill from where we can admire the spectacular views of Paris You can choose from one of the many restaurants offering different types of cuisine and enjoy a relaxing dinner. Afer this we will return to the hotel.
Paris City tour. Climb to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. Boat ride along the Seine. Evening transfer. Today we will take you on a guided tour in which you will discover the history, main boulevards and the breathtaking monuments of the city of Paris. We will stop at the Eiffel Tower where you will have the opportunity to climb up to the second floor of this remarkable wrought-iron monument (ticket admission included). The tour will end with a boat cruise along the River Seine, which divides north and south Paris. Enjoy an afternoon at your own leisure to explore and relax! At sunset you can grab dinner in the Latin Quarter, a very picturesque and historic area where a wide variety of international cuisines await you. We will then return to hotel. Note: There might be very long lines to climb the Eiffel Tower. For operational reasons, if deemed appropriate, the climb can be made at a different time of the day (or on Monday).
Rouen historic centre. We will start the day by going to the centre of Paris, to the area of the Louvre Museum. Enjoy some leisure time to explore. If you wish, we can accompany you to Benlux, one of the most complete and best-known perfumeries in Paris. At around 18.00 we will leave Paris for ROUEN, with its houses with half-timbered walls, narrow streets and gothic churches. Accommodation in the city.
Ferry crossing to United Kingdom. Stroll alongside Tower Bridge.Today we will take a stroll in the centre of Rouen to admire its magnificent cathedral and the ancient streets of the historic centre. After this we travel to the north of France. Travelling by ferry, we will cross the English Channel to reach CANTERBURY, the religious capital of England with a very attractive historic centre. Continuing to LONDON, arriving with time to explore, visit Tower Bridge to see it lit up and admire the modern buildings. Time for dinner in one of the many restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. After dinner, return to the hotel.
Visit London. Changing of the Guard. Evening transfer to Soho. Get to know LONDON on a locally guided tour featuring style, culture and history. See the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames, the Tower of London and Buckingham Palace, where we will be able to watch the famous “Changing of the Guard” (depending on the season). Afternoon at leisure. In the evening, take a walk-through Leicester Square, China Town and Soho, with a lively atmosphere, theatres and entertainment. Sit down for dinner at your preferred restaurant. Return to the hotel.
Picturesque countryside with hills and woods. We start the day leaving London towards northern England. Our first stop is CAMBRIDGE to admire its beautiful residential colleges. After lunch, we will continue to YORK where its cathedral, Roman walls and lively shopping streets will create a charming memory, some free time to stroll around. Afterwards, we will continue north to DURHAM. Explore this charming medieval town full of life which has a wonderful cathedral right in front of the castle.
Cross into Scotland. Castles, views over the sea. Sightseeing of Edinburgh. Today we will travel to Scotland, stopping in ALNWICK, a picturesque town with lovely gardens and a large medieval castle which was used in the Harry Potter films. We will continue to EDINBURGH, arriving at noon. This is Scotland’s capital city and one of the most active cities in Northern Europe. Its monumental centre has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its castle overlooks the city’s steep streets and parks. We will enjoy a sightseeing tour with a local guide.
Magnificent countryside of high mountains and lakes. Boat trip. Loch Ness. We continue to enjoy the stunning landscapes of the Scottish Highlands with a coffee and stroll in PITLOCHRY, a charming little village. We will continue and pass by INVERNESS in the north of Scotland, a city located very near the mysterious Loch Ness. After lunch we visit (entrance included) the URQUHART medieval castle, from here we will take a boat trip on the dark waters of the lake. Afterwards, we will pass through FORT AUGUST with its sluice gate system and FORT WILLIAM, the tourist centre at the foot of Ben Nevis (the highest summit in the United Kingdom). We will return south through the high plateaus where it is possible to glimpse the snow before visiting Loch Lomond, one of the most popular lakes in Scotland. We arrive in GLASGOW at the end of the day. Short stroll around the city centre and accommodation.
Ferryboat to Ireland. Today we will leave Glasgow heading towards southern Scotland. We will board a ferry in Cairnryan. Our journey takes us towards Northern Ireland, arriving in BELFAST, Northern Ireland’s capital city. This monumental city is overcoming its religious conflicts. We will resume our journey to EIRE in Ireland. Last stop will be DUBLIN, arriving at the end of the day.
Sightseeing tour of Dublin. We start the day with a sightseeing tour of DUBLIN, Ireland’s peaceful capital city. We will enjoy a stroll on the banks of River Liffey, visiting its parks, old university and its lively downtown streets. We will stroll around Trinity College (depending on the duration of sunlight, this visit may take place the afternoon before, upon arrival in Dublin). Afternoon at leisure
Ferry from Ireland to Walles. Maritime landscapes. Caernarfon. We will board a ferry in the early morning. After a journey of three hours, we will arrive in Wales. We will visit CAERNARFON, a World Heritage site by the sea overlooked by an impressive castle. There will be time for lunch and a stroll. We continue to LIVERPOOL, where you will have a chance to visit The Beatles Story Exhibition.
Shakespeare’s hometown. Oxford. Today we explore central England. We will visit STRATFORD UPON AVON, Shakespeare’s hometown. Time to take some lunch and a stroll. Afterwards, we will travel to OXFORD, a town that is synonymous with study and culture. Kings, statesmen, philosophers and scientists have studied here! We will continue to LONDON, arriving in the late afternoon.
British Museum. Pleasant hill scenery. Ferry crossing. After breakfast we will go to the British Museum, one of the oldest museums in the world. At lunch time we transfer to Camden, a district famous for having one of the most varied and extravagant street markets in London where we can see relics from cultures all around the world. Enjoy some leisure time. At around 16.00 we will leave for COLCHESTER, known as the most ancient city in England. Time for a stroll. We will then board the ferry in Harwich, taking a night voyage to the Netherlands. Note: The ferry used has a limited number of cabins. Sometimes we might change the itinerary, leaving London at 15.00 and take the Channel Tunnel, and spend the night in Antwerp.
Picturesque typical village of Volendam. Visit to Amsterdam. At around 08:00 in the morning we will reach the Netherlands (Hoek Van Holland), making a stop in VOLENDAM, a very picturesque fishing village. After this, we travel to AMSTERDAM where we will enjoy a panoramic visit of the city to see its narrow canals, its official buildings and parks. We will also see the technique of diamond cutting. Time for dinner in Rembrandtplein, an area with many restaurants from all corners of the world and near the red-light district with its liberal values.
